Aris is one of the key players on the Surf G10 team. Although they didn’t get the results at the ECNL Phoenix tourney, her team is still one of the best teams in the nation. Her ability to read the attack allows her to get into the right lanes to make clean tackles or force players to the wings. Aris is also a leader on both her club team and her high school team. I’m sure she’s ready to get both teams back into contention and make runs at both levels. She and her parents should expect a busy June 15th, as Surf had one of the most scouts in attendance (100+) at the recent showcase. As for her surf team, they will be one of the four top teams to represent the U.S. in the UK. Looking forward to also seeing her and her top-tier team at the national playoffs.

Aris played mainly in the midfield position as a box-to-box player. I’ve previously covered her in club competition as well as last year’s high school season in the left back position. I was pleasantly surprised to see her play comfortably in the central position. Her one- and two-touch combos gave her team opportunities to make runs on goal, but it seemed as if they were one to two players away from getting it past the Wildcats’ defensive line. I liked how she made clean tackles on both ends of the field. Looking forward to covering them during league competition, as I believe they will find a way “to right the ship” and compete for a top 3 position.

Yu has game plain and simple. She is an all-action, well rounded midfielder who covers a lot of ground and makes plays everywhere on the field. She is great at combining with teammates offensively and wins a ton of defensive duels especially for a player who may be a bit undersized. She is the captain of a very good Bay Area Surf team whom was a penalty shootout away from making the ECNL National Championship last season. As much as she is an asset on the field she really seems to be an excellent presence and leader off of it as well.

Her team won a CCS (Central Coast Section) Division 5 title against North Monterey County. The Gators also won the NorCal Division 4 Championship against Fresno Christian. They completed the treble last year, as they also won their league championship. Aris played a big part in their team’s success, as she contributed key goals from her defensive position with runs like a winger. She recently was invited to the ODP West Summer ID Camp. Looking forward to seeing her play on both ends of the pitch, with more on the offensive side to boost her team’s scoring.

Playing Center Back for Bay Area Surf in this game Yu had a captains performance in her sides big win on Saturday afternoon. She is a true leader constantly organizing her team into advantageous positions defensively. She was heroic defensively in the final moments of the game when Beach for pushing for an equalizer.

She showed some superb moves by slicing through the defense before firing a rocket to the far netting. She went by at least four defenders, with the last 2 near the 18, before ripping a left-footed shot. This is my 4th match evaluating Aris, and she seems to be getting better each time she’s on the pitch. It was great to see her play in the midfield, as she is usually at the LB position.

Yu was excellent against So Cal Blues today. She is really calm in possession and uses a ton of hesitation moves to open up space for herself. She has a fantastic ability to dribble into progressive passes.

Yu played a pivotal role in securing her teams upset win against a very strong 2010 Mustang side. She shows great composure on the ball, waiting for play to develop before making a decision and is not phased by opposing players pressing her. The outside back also does a great job defensively and really understands her positional responsibilities.
