ECNL Boys Finals Texas Team Preview: Solar SC Academy 09

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After almost 11 months of action, the ECNL Boys season is set to end this weekend, when the four best teams in the age groups from U13 to U17 decide the national title in Richmond, Virginia.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After standing out in conference play and surviving the playoffs in San Diego a few weeks ago, teams now need to deliver against elite competition to return home with the trophy.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state of Texas will be represented in the event, with&nbsp;<a href="https://prepsoccer.com/program/fc-dallas-2/"><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas']</strong></a>&nbsp;Red 11 (U15),&nbsp;<a href="https://prepsoccer.com/program/dallas-texans-2/"><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='283311' first='Dallas' last='Texans']</strong></a>&nbsp;Academy 10 (U16) and Solar SC Academy 09 (U17) all making the trip to Virginia in the hopes of capping their seasons off with a pair more of wins.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the days leading up to the event, Prep Soccer Texas will preview the teams that will represent the Lone Star State in the Finals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Solar SC Academy 09</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team from Dallas dominated the Texas Conference during the regular season, finishing at the top of the standings with 13 wins, three losses and three ties. In the playoffs, they made their way past Georgia's Concorde Fire Platinum, Illinois' Eclipse Select SC, Sporting Iowa, North Carolina's NCFC Youth Academy and New York's World Class FC. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Their Opponents</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Solar will play Pennsylvania's LVU Rush on Friday at 8:00 AM local time in the national semifinals. He's big and physical and does a great job of using his athletic tools to make impressive stops between the posts. Chairez is excellent at dominating the penalty box to claim crosses and also stands out when he has to leave his spot to confront opposing forwards, being very quick with his movement. Very skilled and intelligent on the ball, he stands out in the attacking midfielder role, using his vision to deliver final passes and drifting wide to beat opponents 1v1 and create chances. Perez can also be deployed higher up on the field and keeps backlines under pressure with his ability to make runs or to drop deeper to get involved in the playmaking. He makes an impact when used as a winger, using his pace and directness to attack defenders 1v1 and make plays out wide. He's more dangerous when used on the left, where he can cut inside to his preferred right foot to finish chances or feed his teammates.
