California 2029 Rankings: ODP Standouts Ready to Rise

The updated Prep Soccer state rankings for the California Class of 2029 will be released this week. Prior to the release of the rankings, check out a scouting report on some of the elite talent from the ODP teams in the state who are making moves in this rankings release.    Longhenry was a new addition to the rankings back in April, and continues to impress. She was recently named to the ODP West Region squad for the 2011 age group.   Longhenry can play left back or center back. She's good on the ball. She is comfortable in breaking pressure with her quick combination play and movement off the ball. She plays with her head up and sets her teammates up for success with her decision-making on the ball.   She's shown the quality to be a difference-maker for her side with consistent play at defense.     Center forward for the California Magic 2011 ECNL-RL team. Part of the ODP West Region 2011 team.   Carrington is a standout from the ECNL RL level. She's a high activity forward. She gets onto a lot of balls thanks to her quick reactions and soccer smarts. She's always in the right position to make a play. She's got a strong all-around game. She can operate as the facilitator in the No. 9 role. She can also be the finisher for her side.   Carrington has the dynamic athletic qualities to suggest she should be on the radar for college scouts.     Banatao is a midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] ECNLRL 2011 team. She is part of the ODP West Region squad.   Banatao is a box-to-box midfielder. She has a well-rounded game. Her defensive qualities stand out for the position. She uses her body well in the duel. She wins possession of the ball cleanly and she is fearless in the tackle.   Banatao is composed on the ball and plays with her head up. She is excellent at quickly connecting passes and opening up the game for her side. She is a do-it-all type of midfielder.     Torres is a 2010 player who is part of the ODP West Region squad. She plays her club soccer for [program_tooltip program_id='384083' first='Magnus' last='FC'] (Corona, California), I believe she lives in Arizona though.   Torres is a terrific attacking talent. She's a big-time prospect from outside of the two-national club leagues. She is dynamic on the ball and an impressive dribbler. She is strong, quick, and a lethal finisher around the goal.   She was part of the Reign Youth Combine earlier this summer. She previously played for FRAM. She joined the LAFC program for the upcoming season and will be featured in the ECNL. She is part of the ODP West Region team.   Bengino has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID Center events in the past. She's also been called into Philippines National Team.   Bengino impressed with her positioning before the shot and her ability to make the diving save. She does well moving her feet and getting her body set for the full extension save. She's also a standout in her knack for getting a clean look on the shot before it leaves the foot of the attacker.   She is a modern goalkeeper and has good footwork. She can be an outlet for her team and ping a pass from touchline to touchline. She doesn't overwhelm with her physical traits, but she has all the intangibles to develop into an elite shot-stopper for this class.     Heringer is a center back on the [program_tooltip program_id='283312' first='Davis' last='Legacy'] squad. She was named to the Top 18 players list to the Far West Championship from earlier this year. She was also named to the ODP West Region team.   Heringer continues to be a defender on the rise. She has some position flexibility as previously being a midfielder. I've mainly seen her play as a right center back during the most recent campaign. The comfort on the ball and ability to play against the press shines in that role. Her competitiveness is also evident as well.   Heringer looks to be one of the best defensive-minded center backs in the Northern California 2011 class.     Ghozlan is a winger on the [program_tooltip program_id='283312' first='Davis' last='Legacy'] 2011 ECNL team. She looks like she could be a wide midfielder. She's been part of the [program_tooltip program_id='287623' first='Cal' last='North ODP'] and the West Region ODP team for a while.   There's not much on social media about her, which is a bit of a rarity in the current landscape. Ghozlan is a consistent key performer for her ECNL team. A couple of strengths of her game is her endurance (she makes full field runs non-stop and she never drops her head if she doesn't get a pass during one of those runs) and her quick decision-making from the wing.   The positive of her game is that she retains possession for her team and does the hard work, high effort jobs for the position. The criticism for her game is that she needs to be aggressive in that winger role. She needs to take on players in more 1v1 situations. The ball control and skill are there. She has the tools to be a top winger, but the reality might be the mindset makes her a better option as a wingback in the future.
