Prep Soccer Texas is proud to release the first-ever version of its 2030 Boys State Rankings. After months of scouting, we're happy to reveal the list of players that made our cut and the rankings we assigned to each of them, based on the potential demonstrated over the last year.

The rankings will continue to be consistently updated so they accurately reflect the progress achieved by players over time and present a clear picture of the Texas landscape, always keeping in mind each prospect's potential to make an impact at the next level.

Texas 2030 Boys State Rankings

The new Texas 2030 Boys State Rankings feature 100 players from every corner of the Lone Star State, and we're taking the week to present you with some of the most intriguing names that made the list. Keep these defenders on your radar:

Vasquez is the top-ranked defender and takes sixth place overall in the Class of 2030 in Texas. He's a left back and plays for the [program_tooltip program_id='283657' first='Houston' last='Dynamo'] Academy in the MLS Next League. Vasquez is very solid on both sides of the ball, but the offense is probably the strong area of his game. He's versatile in the attacking half, being capable of making plays on his own or combining with teammates out wide, but also of coming inside and making an impact with his passing. Vasquez also tends to appear in good spots inside the box in set pieces and converts his chances at a good rate. He holds his own defensively, too, showing solid discipline to work off the ball and keeping opponents out of the penalty box with his intelligent positioning and moves.

Hoerner ranks second among the Class of 2030 Texas defenders and tenth overall. He plays club soccer for GFI Academy in the MLS Next League. A center back who can play as a defensive midfielder, he's clinical with his positioning, consistently popping up in the right spot to make plays in the defensive half. Hoerner's ability to anticipate plays allows him to win the ball by intercepting passes or with quick actions, but he also does well in physical duels. He's very calm and intelligent on the ball and does a great job of supporting the offense with his smart, progressive passing out of the back.

Boyette earned sixth place among the defenders and 22nd overall in the state in the new Rankings. He's part of [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] Academy and plays in the MLS Next League. Boyette does a very good job in central defense for his team, using his quickness to win the ball with clean tackles and keeping opponents under pressure with his intense defensive game and firm actions. Tactically intelligent and well-rounded, he can also play on both outside back spots, bringing some versatility to the table. The defender also communicates very well with his teammates and is a vocar leader in the team's backline.

Davis stands out in 12th place among the defenders and 48th overall in Texas. The outside back represents Solar SC in the ECNL League at the club level and features for Walnut Grove at the high school level. He's right-footed and can be used on both sides, but plays primarily on the left, which allows him to bring the ball inside to pass or finish when in the attacking half. He's a standout defender who plays with incredible energy off the ball and thrives by winning duels to dominate his zone.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLvHYxSOc5I/

Rodriguez earned a spot on our Watchlist. The center back captains HTX in the ECNL League and is set to join Porter for the high school season. He's an important piece in his team's backline, leading them with strong plays and solid communication. Rodriguez makes the most of his positioning and his ability to read the game, often stepping up to stop plays and intercept passes around the penalty box, but he also thrives in physical duels. He's very comfortable on the ball, often attempting passes through opposing pressing lines, and can be a weapon with powerful, well-placed shots in set pieces.
