Michigan Up and Up - Five players scouts must know

The Prep Soccer state rankings for the Michigan 2029 class will be updated next week. Prior to the release of the updated rankings, check out a scouting report on five players who jumped up the rankings with this release.    Fontana is one of the players who jumped up the most in the rankings with this update. The center back from [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2011 ECNL had a stellar club season and it carried over into the ECNL playoffs in Seattle.   She was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First Team. She solidified her spot as one of the top defenders in the country.   There is some versatility to her game - and I do think there is a quality to her playing style that suggest a future in an outside back or back three type of role. That said, her play at left center back is elite among prospects at the club level. She is a defensive menace. She is stubborn on the field, competitive, and fearless. She will lunge into a tackle and can mostly get away with it thanks to her athleticism.   She's got the quality on the ball to shine as well. She can break pressure with her passing and her ability to dribble through lines. Fontana has all the tools to be a top recruit from this class.     Bainbridge was our top ranked outside back in the Michigan 2029 class heading into the last club season. She definitely made those words ring true - and then some. The [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] standout was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First Team.   She confirmed her place as one of the best right backs in the country. She's an excellent two-way player. A ferocious competitor on the wing, Bainbridge can lock down any winger and then jump start the attack going the other way.   Bainbridge should be on the radar for all scouts as she has shown the consistency at the elite club level to be considered one of the best in this class regardless of position.     Knoll is forward on the [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2011 ECNL (2029) team. She can play as an attacking midfielder as well. She was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference Second Team.   Knoll is another player who impressed during the ECNL Playoffs. She had a terrific goal against Legends. The timing of her run and and one-touch finish were both excellent. Knoll had a full season of those type of goals. She's a player with good activity off the ball. She is making the runs and getting into the channels to help her team. She's a tricky player in 1v1 situations. She's fast, keeps close control of the ball, and has good strength to hold off defenders.   She's jumped up the ranking as she thanks to her finishing and big game ability for one of the top teams in the country.     Moffa is a versatile player on the Michigan Hawks 2010/2011 ECNL team. She can play pretty much any spot on the field. She had some strong outings at outside back during the ECNL playoffs.   The right back for the Hawks is a super smart player. She has an excellent read on anticipating the timing of the pass of the opposition. She does well in 1v2 situations with cutting out angles. She's also got the quickness to jump into passing lanes and cut out the ball.   She's got all the tools to be an elite outside back for the next level.     Doucet is another elite outside back from the Michigan 2029 class. She plays left back for the Hawks 2010/2011 ECNL team.   Doucet has good physical tools to be an elite outside back. She has the size and athleticism to match up on the wing. She moves her feet well and shows good technique in the duel. There are times when she could be more aggressive in the tackle. She's got the quality and defensive technique to shut the door on players, but she tends to stand them up more often.   Doucet has a good service with her left foot. She is a more reserved type of outside back and times her runs into the attack well.
