Fontana is a defender for Nationals 2011 ECNL team. She can play any spot in the back four. She had a terrific game against Chicago Inter earlier this month. She is listed as a midfielder/defender on her player profile. She is a player who could fit into a variety of roles. 

As a center back, she’s aggressive, active, and commanding. She is fearless in the tackle. She is physical against attacking players and uses her body well. 

As an outside back, she has the athleticism, pace, and endurance to get up and down the touch line. She is a two-way player who has excellent instincts in possession.
