Fontana is one of the players who jumped up the most in the rankings with this update. The center back from Nationals 2011 ECNL had a stellar club season and it carried over into the ECNL playoffs in Seattle.

She was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First Team. She solidified her spot as one of the top defenders in the country.

There is some versatility to her game – and I do think there is a quality to her playing style that suggest a future in an outside back or back three type of role. That said, her play at left center back is elite among prospects at the club level. She is a defensive menace. She is stubborn on the field, competitive, and fearless. She will lunge into a tackle and can mostly get away with it thanks to her athleticism.

She’s got the quality on the ball to shine as well. She can break pressure with her passing and her ability to dribble through lines. Fontana has all the tools to be a top recruit from this class.

The defensive line of the Nationals held strong especially late against the Solar attack. Fontana did well covering and getting into the tackle at the right time. Madison Muhammad Madison Muhammad 5'7" | D Haslett | 2029 State MI was also terrific in the center of the Nationals defense. 

Fontana is a defender for Nationals 2011 ECNL team. She can play any spot in the back four. She had a terrific game against Chicago Inter earlier this month. She is listed as a midfielder/defender on her player profile. She is a player who could fit into a variety of roles. 

As a center back, she’s aggressive, active, and commanding. She is fearless in the tackle. She is physical against attacking players and uses her body well. 

As an outside back, she has the athleticism, pace, and endurance to get up and down the touch line. She is a two-way player who has excellent instincts in possession. 

Fontana has shown the key characteristics to be viewed as a top player in this class.
