Seven ECNL Standouts to Watch in California’s 2029 Class

The Prep Soccer state rankings for the California 2029 class will be updated this week. Prior to the release of the rankings, read a scouting report on seven players from the ECNL that scouts have high expectations for during the upcoming season.    Litch is a right back on the [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] 2011 ECNL team. She previously played for some other clubs in Southern California. She earned a starting role with her new team during the playoffs.   There's a lot to like about her player profile for the position. She's quick, athletic, and skillful. Litch has the pace to burst past players, and agility to take on any winger in the ECNL. She could improve on her defensive technique. She had some moments during the ECNL playoffs when her body shape was off in the duel and a slower player was able to get around her. The more experience she gets with top coaching and opponents, the quicker she will be ready to contribute at the next level. She is rarely punished for these mistakes because she has elite recovery speed.   Litch has so much potential that it is easy to see why she has been earning a starting spot on one of the best teams in the country.     Kothari is a goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='283646' first='FC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf']'] 2010 ECNL team. She had a standout showing during the ECNL playoffs.   Kothari is a lean athlete who likes to play off her line. She is confident with the ball at her feet and acts as a good outlet for her team. She is also excellent at cutting out the pass over the top with her positional play.   Kothari has a bit of an edge to her game. She is not afraid to push a player out of her way to get to the ball. She's tough and embodies the spirit of her club team with her competitiveness. She's been a key player for one of the top teams in the ECNL.     [player_tooltip player_id='295892' first='Malia' last='Love'] is a versatile player on the [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] 2011 ECNL team. She can play almost any spot on the field. The strengths of her game are her speed and competitiveness. She shines at outside back at the club level.   Love can be an elite 1v1 defender with her quickness and her defensive instincts. Love has shown the ability to shutdown top wingers. The best part is her comfort in joining the attack once she wins the ball. She's quick to get into the attacking position and create chances for her side.   Love has the potential to be a contributor at the college level from this class thanks to her elite traits.     Halada is a winger on the [program_tooltip program_id='283641' first='De' last='Anza Force'] 2011 ECNL team. She is a dynamic attacking player who can distrupt the game in a number of ways. Halada's two-way play is a strong point of her game. She's exceptional in the press. She is quick with her reactions and reads a bad touch as well as any winger in this class.   When she's on the ball, she's quick to start the attack. She's comfortable finishing or crossing with either foot which makes her a difficult player to stop - but especially challenging in the transition moments of the game.   Halada is one to watch this season as she has shown the rare ability to influence the game from her two-way play on the wing.     Anschutz is a goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf'] 2011 ECNL team. She's also been part of the ODP team in Northern California. Anschutz stands out for her quality with the ball at her feet. She is excellent with distribution and displays a ton of confidence on the ball.   She also handles high balls well. She has a good knack for knowing when to tip the ball over the bar and when to snag with both hands. She's also excellent at crosses. She high points the ball and punches away from danger. She's got a lot of potential as an elite prospect for her position.     Eagleson is a key player on the [program_tooltip program_id='283425' first='[program_tooltip program_id='283424' first='Pateadores' last='']' last=''] 2011 ECNL team. She can play as a striker or in the midfield. She's got the physical frame to play as a target forward. She uses her body well and wins in the aerial duels.   Eagleson is a good finisher. She is smooth as a dribbler and uses body feints well. She has a knack for finishing outside of the box with her strong leg and good ball striking technique. Those traits also work on the cross when she drifts out wide.   Eagleson is a difference-maker in the attack at the ECNL level and has the uqality to make that type of difference at the next level.     Austin is a standout from [program_tooltip program_id='278044' first='Tudela' last='FC'] who starred with [program_tooltip program_id='283395' first='Legends' last='FC'] 2011 ECNL during the ECNL playoffs over the summer.   Austin is also part of the U.S. Youth National Team. She has been called into camps in recent months.   At the club level, she was outstanding as the right center back for her Legends squad. She's agile, quick, and seemingly everywhere when needed. Austin reads the game well and shuts down the opponent. She's got quality on the ball as well. She can break the press with her ability on the pass or on the dribble.   She's got the quality to be a contibutor at the international level for a long time.
