Bethel is the surprise team of the year already posting 11 wins. While their strength of schedule is low, they have been dominating opponents.
Maury has only one loss, a 1-0 setback to top five side Princess Anne and they are one of the favorites to grab one of the two invites to the state tournament. The Commodores have only conceded goals in two matches all season behind the strong play of JMU commit, keeper Lili White Lili White null | GK Maury (VA) | 2024 VA .
Nansemond River sits third in the table and has their toughest opponents already in the books. Kendall Carr and Joelle Hare have been formidable in the attack all season long.
Madisyn Strange scored her 100th high school goal this week to set a new Menchville record as the Monarchs won their seventh straight game that includes six clean sheets. Menchville started the season 0-4 but with the return of key players from injury and a young defense that has come together, they are a team to watch in the regional tournament.
Gloucester, Granby, Kecoughtan, and Woodside will all need strong finishes to grab the last two spots to the region tournament.

Region 4A: 10 teams qualify for the tournament with seeds 1-6 receiving a first round bye. Any of the current top three seeds can still claim the top spot.
Smithfield is ahead of Great Bridge using the power ranking system even thought Great Bridge won an earlier match-up. The attack of Bri Curro, Katie Lutz Katie Lutz null | M Smithfield (VA) | 2023 VA , Kaitlyn Worrell, Emma Forbes Emma Forbes D Smithfield | 2023 VA , and Lydia Jones has been scoring in bunches and will look to make it back to the state tournament.
Great Bridge has only one loss on the season (5A powerhouse Cox) and has quality wins over Smithfield, York, and Nansemond River. Draws versus 6A sides Ocean Lakes and Western Branch proves the Wildcats can play with anyone. The scoring tandem of Ava Gomez and Audrey Orrock Audrey Orrock F Great Bridge | 2025 State VA are a dangerous duo with Hannah Zayicek dishing out assists from the midfield.
The game of the year in Bay Rivers goes down on May 9th when Jamestown crosses the James River for a showdown with Smithfield which could determine the no. 1 seed in the regional tournament. The Eagles faced both Kellam and First Colonial this season and even though they came away with losses, those games provided big game experience to prepare for the postseason. Seven of the Eagles 10 wins have come via a clean sheet.
Seeds 4-10 are wide open between Deep Creek, Churchland, Kings Fork, Grafton, Manor, Warwick, and Warhill.
