Center back for SLSG U15 MLS Next. Starting defender for the team last season in MLS Next. He’s a very good defender. Tough in the tackle and active in the game. He is always switched on. Barrett shined for his 1v1 defending. He had a game last season when he took the ball off of three attackers in quick succession with hustle play. He does have a bit of overeagerness to his game and will overrun the play at times and get caught out. With more games under his belt, he will adapt to that. The times he was out of position were more glaring too because of the three-back system for SLSG. McLaughlin’s competitiveness and defensive work-rate are the key and make him a top prospect for this class.
