A tall center back, Degny immediately stands out from game film. He was the tallest player on the field when playing up an age group. Standing over six-feet tall at 14 years old, it's easy to remark on the physical profile of the prospect. His goal at the Patterson Cup over the summer showcased his potential as a target on set pieces. He's a more complete player than just being physically dominant. He is a great individual defender. He uses his body well in tackles, and utilizes his long legs to be as wide as possible when shielding the ball. He needs to clean up some technical aspects of his game. He had a couple of giveaways under pressure last season while playing up an age group due to a bad touch. He played for Southern Soccer Academy in MLS Next last season. Medrano played with some position flexibility last season. He floated lines and had the green light to take over the game when he saw the opportunity. His performance against Altanta United in that last league game was probably one of the big reasons why he was recruited to join the nearby MLS academy. There are a few elements of his game that remind me of Clint Dempsey. He has that edge to his game - and a bit of swagger to his strut on the field. He takes a free kick in the same way as well. The way he dribbles and leaves a trailing leg to draw fouls - as well as his physical profile have a lot of characteristics of Dempsey's game. He has quick feet and regularly gets past the first defender. His close control of the ball and ability to turn quickly have separated him from his peers in this position. He can whip in a cross or cut inside to rip off a shot. His movement off the ball is advanced for this age group. He varies his runs rather than stay wide at all times, he cuts inside and makes diagonal moves to receive the ball in different areas while facing toward goal. He is a good two-way player too and works hard defensively to earn back possession for his side. He is a more physical player than the prototypical youth midfielder. Eager to put in a tackle, smart about using his body to shield the ball, Sibrian is a leader by example. He is a good passer - albeit he could improve on his decision-making on when to try the long diagonal ball. He has the knack for creating space around the 18-yard-box and finishing off chances. He scored a wonder goal with his left against Nashville last season during league play. He has that capability in every game thanks to his combination of skill and smarts.
