Texas HS Girls Match to Watch: Southlake Carroll vs. Keller

The high school soccer season is now going at full pace in the state of Texas as district play is now underway across the Lone Star State and every match matters in terms of determining which teams will contend for a spot in the postseason and, from then, to make it to the State Tournament in April.   Prep Soccer will be following the action closely, following multiple matches every week and reporting on the players having big roles with their teams and helping them succeed. As part of our coverage, we will also preview some matches we believe have the potential to be highly exciting and here is our pick for Tuesday, January 30:   Southlake Carroll vs. Keller - 6:30 PM @ Southlake Carroll HS   Southlake Carroll   Vastly recognized as one of the top teams in the state, the Lady Dragons from Southlake are a force in District 4 and were just one win away from the State Tournament last season, falling in the Regional Final. Southlake Carroll have had nothing but wins so far this season, having collected 12 of them already, while scoring 83 goals and conceding just six. They are 2-0 in district play after beating Timber Creek twice 3-1.   Senior Katherine Dalton is their starting goalkeeper and she gets great protection from the strong backline formed by junior [player_tooltip player_id='33383' first='Abigail' last='Mills'] and seniors [player_tooltip player_id='26944' first='Kylie' last='Harris'] and Aubriena Driskill. Carroll also have plenty of talent in midfield with seniors [player_tooltip player_id='26337' first='Kenzi' last='Tufts'] and Erin O'Donnell, junior [player_tooltip player_id='26768' first='Hannah' last='Jordan'] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='26863' first='Kamdyn' last='Fuller'], who's their main chance creator. They are also undefeated in the current season, having collected 11 wins and two ties in their first matches, with 51 goals scored and six conceded. Keller were dominant in their first district matches, beating Eaton 2-0 and Keller Central 3-0.   Junior goalkeeper Lennox Kauchak has been inserted into the starting lineup this season and has been doing a great job, with eight clean sheets in 13 matches. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='114353' first='Lauren' last='Rotan'] leads the team's backline, flanked by a pair of promising freshmen in [player_tooltip player_id='27201' first='Riley' last='Hewitt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='86167' first='Presley' last='See']. Seniors Emma Moreau and Katy Wieters anchor the midfield.
