Central California has seen a tremendous spike in quality of play, players and coaching over the last 10 years and it continues to get better. Talent from Bakersfield, Clovis and Fresno, and the surrounding areas, continues to improve and it appears that it will continue to do so.

KEEPER: Vik Singh of Fresno High stands out here as a very solid keeper with great skills. He was second-team All-TRAC and allowed less than a goal a game, despite having a heavy workload. He can make saves, command his box and is a presence.

DEFENDERS: A pair of stud juniors from Clovis North join this Best XI team as Garik Mkrtchyan and Josh Gault are worthy selections. Mkrtchyan was the Tri-Rivers Athletic Conference player of the year, as a defender and Josh Gault was the defender of the year. The team only allowed 15 goals in 27 games this season. Jaycob Walker from Central High in Fresno joins the team as the third defender and was second team all-league and is highly regarded in the area.

MIDFIELDERS: The Clovis North midfield is very healthy as two very young players made the All-TRAC team and are selected to this Best XI in Central California. Nixon Hansen, a sophomore, is who is very attack-minded and versatile. He led the team with 18 goals this season. [player_tooltip player_id='146797' first='Brady' last='Downing'], a freshman who came back to the high school game from LAFC, was a pivotal part of the team this year as the defensive mid that pulled all the strings. Jose Carrillo, a senior at Foothill, was the box-to-box midfielder the team needed as he was a physical and emotional leader. Jonathan Suarez of Fresno rounds out the midfield as the senior was the North Yosemite League MVP.

FORWARDS: Jovanny Salazar led Foothill on an assault of the Central Section Division II playoffs and the SoCal Regional playoffs as the Bakersfield College commit had two goals and three assist in the state title game. He finished the year with 19 goals and 15 assists. Pedro Bahia of McLane is a special talent and helped his team to the CS DI semifinals. Andrew Nava of a Ridgeview team that finished as runner's up in the Central Section DI playoffs had 22 goals and 11 assists on the season.
