US Soccer identifies top talent among Nor Cal 2011s

The MVLA star has the tools to be a top No. 9 in the country in her age group. She has a nose for the goal and a unrivaled determination. She had some great moments during the ECNL playoffs in June. She showed off her soccer smarts with the timing and angle of her runs. She could improve on her back-to-the-goal play as she has the strength to hold off defenders, but sometimes gets her body position wrong which allows smaller center backs to poke the ball away. She can be precise with her play and take apart the defense like a surgeon, but she also has the strength and speed to brute force her way past defenders as well. Ellis' combination of skill and strength along with sheer determination has made her a top attacking talent in Northern California. She can play anywhere in the attack.
