About Gianna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very "attack" minded, always trying to find the space for a shot. I'm told that I have excellent vision of the field which really helps when I play in the 9 or 10, understanding the right pass or when it's time to go to goal. I am a possession oriented player and when in the box, I'm working to get the shot off or draw a PK. On defense, I really like to press and be active in their half.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to have fun with my friends and teammates! I'm quick to laugh and always try to make others feel good about themselves. I'm comfortable in new environments and on new teams with strangers. My coaches tell me I am extremely coachable.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in 5 volunteer organizations at school this year as I really like to support and give back to my community.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've played on a lot of teams and they each need different things from my, so I've learned to be adaptable to their needs. I also frequently try to help do on the field coaching during games to help my teammates with observations that I have.

What type of college are you looking for?

I like really big schools with great soccer and football programs. I want to major in business so that will be easy to find, so I'm focusing on the environment of the campus, strong academics, and an exciting school experience, knowing that I'll be putting my soccer training first.

Savino is a center forward on the FL Premier 09 ECNL team. She has been highlighted previously for her play with West Florida Flames . She’s been in top form during this season in the ECNL and for her high school. She is playing with a ton of confidence and even showing out while having the attention of every defender. Her effectiveness playing as a center forward might be an overlooked aspect of her game. She can occupy both center backs with her back to the goal play and create chances for her teammates. Close to goal, she still has the quality to spin off defenders and finish chances. Savino is a No. 9 who should be a top priority for scouts as she has all the potential to be an All-Conference type of talent at the college level in one of the most important positions on the field.
