Week 3 RDU Metro Preseason Best Performers

Week 3 of the RDU metro area preseason gave us plenty of talent. This week saw more talents shine through, and others continue to prove how good they are. To widen the talent pool, the preseason articles won't include repeating players. Even with that filter, we have a talented list of players to look at.    Godsway is a phenomenal striker talent who causes problems for the opposing defense all match long. His positioning is fantastic, knowing what each play asks for. This makes him not only a great target in the final third but also helpful in circulating the ball. His movements on the ball are remarkable. A player with so much agility and the ability to get out of tight spaces, he makes getting out of pressure look easy. Combined with his pace once he gets free of the press, he embarrasses defenders. His finishing makes him a devastating striker, scoring quality goals constantly.     Adrina is a talented right winger who looks to constantly take the ball to the defenders. His skillful dribbling makes it hard to get the ball off him. He looks to show the defender the ball, then embarrasses them by swiftly taking it away from them. His agility is also fantastic, moving with ease in tight spaces. When he's in the final third, he looks to invert constantly. This helps him open up spaces for his overlapping right-back, or play the ball in central areas. This, alongside his vision, makes him a great playmaker close to the goal.     Cameron is a great striker who plays with the passion you look for in any player. Intense and determined, he makes opposing defenders nervous. He does this both on and off the ball, making him a constant threat. He's a progressive-minded player, leading his team forward by driving the ball through the opposition. Regardless of whether it's a clean dribble or him being dispossessed, he forces the play forward. In the box, he's lethal. Calm and collected, he finds the back of the net easily. Another welcome attribute is his throw-ins, which he makes look like precise crosses.     Gabriel is a very promising center back prospect who has appeared in an article <a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/01/best-players-of-the-top-ranked-teams-wakefield-high-school/">before</a>. The description from last season remains true, proving himself to be a wall at the back. He's imposing and confident, making him a fantastic defender. However, an attribute he has shown so far is his attacking association. Driving the ball through the center, he forces his team up the field from deep. From here, he either presents himself as a passing option or even a finisher. He's proven himself as a goal threat, bagging a few goals with his presence in the final third.     Mateo is a talented left winger who helps his team be more fluid in the final third. Very attack-minded, he shines primarily in the final third. Agile and progressive, he drives the ball to the defenders. He exploits spaces effectively, too, whether he's making runs into them or dribbling into them. In either case, he's looking to constantly cause problems. If he's running into space, his sights are set solely on the goal. Once he gets in a one-on-one situation, beating the keeper is no issue. If he's dribbling into space, he's looking for the play to end in a shot, regardless of who is shooting.
