Verbal Commitment Scout Grades

Incredible work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is all happening so fast this year. 2026 &amp; 2027's are making their verbal commitments to different schools. I'd like to remind everyone that verbal commitments mean nothing until a letter of intent is signed. Players &amp; Programs flip their verbal commitments all the time throughout this process. It's a very interesting time in American Youth Women's Soccer, as players seem to be more eager to commit to schools than in past years. Many without even going on a visit to the school. Is this a good thing for the programs and the players? Only time will tell.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It's a fascinating system where kids can commit their futures to a program a whole 2 years before they step on campus. I will be giving out grades to recent verbal commitments. Please keep in mind if you are reading this and you didn't get the grade you wanted. Please keep in mind, if you have committed to play at a Division 1, 2 or 3 soccer program you are a great soccer player. Only 7% of high schooler do what you have the opportunity to do. These grades are based on overall fit, style of play/positional need of that particular program, how the program is doing this season and if I believe the commitment will last 4-5 years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I also encourage players to make their highlight reel easy to access for scouts to evaluate on your social media profiles. She is the top ranked goalkeeper in Colorado in her class and headed to a top program. Baylor are undefeated so far this season at 5-0-2. She's a very reliable defensive midfielder who can shoot with a lot of power. Pepperdine are always one of the favorites to win the WCC and have done an excellent job recruiting per usual this year. She is the #28 ranked player in New York in her class and is headed to a program that sits at 3-2-3. Kotschau is an exceptional attacking player who has been with the youth national team and has a handful of appearances in international tournaments. The Buckeyes are getting an extremely technical player with excellent feet and a real weapon in tight spaces. She's excellent at breaking lines on the dribble and the pass. I definitely have some style of play concerns with this one. The attacking midfielder is an absolute magician on the ball. She can get out of any bind and has excellent vision. The SEC is an extremely physical league that will take some time to adjust for her. Brown has had a great season so far sitting at 5-1-2 and are considered the favorites to come out on top in the Ivy League by the end of the season. The Bears do a great job recruiting and Tressler is the #21 overall ranked player in Massachusetts.
