One of the most popular ECNL Showcase events of the year kicked off in Arizona this weekend. Over 300 ECNL teams and just over 200 college coaches have descended into the Phoenix area to watch and scout some of the best soccer talent in the country. The top ECNL clubs from Washington, Oregon and Idaho sent teams to PHX to display their skills against other top ECNL clubs from across the nation. Big results could help seeding as we approach the ECNL National Playoffs but what is always on the forefront of many players is that they get the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of the best colleges and coaching staffs in the NCAA.

Here are some matchups and players you will want to keep your eyes on as we roll into the final games on Sunday:

Boise Thorns FC ECNL G09 v. San Francisco Elite Academy ECNL RL G09

The Boise Thorns G09 squad are on a hot streak going into their showcase finale tomorrow. Coming off back-to-back wins against Santa Rosa United and Beach FC (VA), they are looking for the clean sweep in Phoenix. Look for Alexa Zierenberg to keep the pressure on San Francisco's back line. She has already put a couple in the back of the net, and she's probably not done yet. Alexa isn't the only Boise Thorn turning heads, Eden Scott is finding herself on the scoreline with a quality performance this weekend as well. San Francisco Elite Academy has struggled to score this weekend and with Boise's defense looking tough, GK Laney Otero will be looking for her second shutout of the showcase.

[program_tooltip program_id='277214' first='XF' last='Academy ECNL'] G10 v. Cleveland Force SC ECNL G10

XF Academy G10 are sitting at the top of the Northwest Conference table and currently qualified for the Champions League in the ECNL National Playoffs, which are located in their hometown this year. Their league play has been stellar! On Sunday they take on a Cleveland Force team who is undefeated in this showcase and would love nothing more than then to take down a titan like XF. One XF athlete who will have something to say about that will be [player_tooltip player_id='111495' first='Kloe' last='Fredrickson']. She's coming off a ECNL National Selection Game invite and will be ready to dominate in the middle of the pitch. The star power doesn't end there, [player_tooltip player_id='276517' first='Chloe' last='Steinburg'], [player_tooltip player_id='273149' first='Emerson' last='Snorsky'] and [player_tooltip player_id='273148' first='Vivienne' last='Whipple'] will be flying around too, giving Cleveland Force a tough matchup. XF is always stacked with talent and this G10 squad is no exception.

[program_tooltip program_id='283324' first='Eastside' last='FC'] ECNL G11 v. LV Heat Surf ECNL G11

As the Eastside G11 team prepares for their final match of the showcase tomorrow, they will be thinking about one thing, keep up the momentum! Prior to this ECNL showcase they had won 4 of their last 5 matches and qualify for a berth in the North American Cup this summer. This team has many athletes that can lead the charge but look to [player_tooltip player_id='347836' first='Makenna' last='Antonio'] to make the first move. She's a force in the middle and LV Heat Surf will have to control her movements and possession if they hope to contain her. Another defensive minded player to watch will be [player_tooltip player_id='321040' first='Aspen' last='Austin']. She has the ability to lock down attackers and disrupt big plays. Eastside will be looking to come home to the PNW with a statement win.

[program_tooltip program_id='277208' first='Washington' last='Premier ECNL'] G12 v. Sporting Blue Valley ECNL G12

Washington Premier G12 entered the weekend with an undefeated NW Conference record and an ECNL National Playoff qualification in the Champions League all but secured. Needless to say, they are having a fantastic season thus far. Though WP is flying high at the moment, they would love to take care of some business on Sunday. After a tough loss on Friday to a great DKSC ECNL G12 squad, WP bounced back with a 1-0 win on Saturday and will look to finish strong against Sporting Blue Valley who is undefeated on the weekend. The defense of Washington Premier has been dominating this season and a key contributor to that success has been, [player_tooltip player_id='353602' first='Eden' last='Pound']. She is aggressive on the ball and relentless in pursuit. Her and her WP back line should bring something special to the table on Sunday.

Portland Thorns ECNL G10 v. LV Heat Surf ECNL G10

This Portland Thorns G10 team has elite talent and there's no way they are heading back to the PNW without a big showcase win in their back pocket. Providing that spark to ignite this team may very well be [player_tooltip player_id='348925' first='Lilly' last='Yakel']. This impressive defender was an ECNL National Selection Game invite this showcase and just got back from representing the United States in Turkey for a developmental tourney. Let's just say, she's doing big things. Look for a dominating performance from Yakel as she works to shut down the LV Heat attack on Sunday. [player_tooltip player_id='351296' first='Sophie' last='Naulty'] is another head turner who standouts with her aggressive play and elite instincts and skill in the middle of the pitch. Lastly, [player_tooltip player_id='351294' first='Lucia' last='Tragesser'] will look to find herself in the final 3rd and taking wicked shots that could rain on LV Heat Surf's undefeated showcase parade.
