Duke University has identified some fantastic talents that are headed their way in the summer of 2027. Prep Soccer has 9 listed players as committed to the prestigious university, and those are the ones that I'll be focusing on. This first part focuses on 5 of them, with this list being more diverse in positions. As stated previously, all the players are class of 2027, and this will remain true for Part 2.

Dapgne is a phenomenal winger who can play on either side but performs her best on the right. What caught my eye the most is her unreal dribbling. Regardless of the number of players that surround her, she'll find her way to get out of the predicament. She dazzles both out wide and through the channels. Her eye for goal complements her ability as a deadly forward. These qualities, in my opinion, give her an important edge in making the jump to college soccer. I believe she might hit the ground running, but even if she doesn't, she'll undoubtedly leave her mark in the institution.

Lily is one of North Carolina's many promising goalkeepers, and she will be representing the most prestigious university in the state. Her awareness is what sets her apart. In defense, she never loses sight of the ball, which allows her to be prepared if she's called upon. If she has to be the one who starts attacks, her awareness gives her team an important advantage in starting plays from deep. Her reactions in shot-stopping are fantastic. In ball-playing, she's another outfielder in function. She organizes her defense and plays great passes from deep. This phase in her career can see her be molded into a phenomenal professional.

Jordyn is a fantastic forward who can also play further back as an attacking midfielder. Wherever she plays, she demonstrates her immense talent. She's aggressive, which allows her to push forward effectively. Any loose ball in or near the box has her name written on it. In the box, she keeps her composure fantastically. She isn't afraid at all of the pressure of finishing a chance. Her ball-striking is wonderful, allowing her to score great goals from wherever she wants. Aerials are just as easy for her, even if she is shorter than the defenders marking her.

Alexa is one of the most promising left-backs I've seen so far. Her anticipation is top-notch. Any attack that goes by her flank ends at her feet. She knows when and where to press players to regain possession. With her interceptions, she's just as effective. In attack, we see her brilliance shine even stronger. Her crossing is fantastic. She combines both accuracy and power. Seeing these in action is one of the best things you can see. Another attacking attribute is both her overlapping and inverting. She does either easily and naturally. She follows plays, either defensively or offensively, until the very end.

Emmy is listed as a midfielder and was covered before as a defender in another article. She proves her unbelievable versatility in attack. One of the most eye-catching attributes is how fast she is. Both on and off the ball, her explosiveness leaves defenders scrambling. She also does this in an aggressive manner, imposing herself offensively. In tight spaces, she shows how agile she is. She'll get out of them, then bomb forward. When she's dribbling, she combines this with great skills. They aren't the flashiest, but they are remarkably effective. In the box, her shooting is unreal. The only hope for the goalkeeper is that the shot goes off target or close enough to them. Off the ball, her pressing is spectacular. Defenders get no breathing room if she's near.
