Emmy is listed as a midfielder and was covered before as a defender in another article. She proves her unbelievable versatility in attack. One of the most eye-catching attributes is how fast she is. Both on and off the ball, her explosiveness leaves defenders scrambling. She also does this in an aggressive manner, imposing herself offensively. In tight spaces, she shows how agile she is. She’ll get out of them, then bomb forward. When she’s dribbling, she combines this with great skills. They aren’t the flashiest, but they are remarkably effective. In the box, her shooting is unreal. The only hope for the goalkeeper is that the shot goes off target or close enough to them. Off the ball, her pressing is spectacular. Defenders get no breathing room if she’s near.

I’ve written about O’Donnell before with regards to her versatility and that was once again a strong point of her showing at the Conference Cup. She played as the right back for her side at the start of the game. She had a couple of passes in the first half that were world class. Exceptional pace and placement on the pass to set up chances for her teammates. O’Donnell is a terrific two-way player and showed it against the best. 

O’Donnell is the only player on the New England roster who is listed as a forward, midfielder, and defender. She is a wide player who typically lines up on the left side of the formation for the FC Stars Blue 08 ECNL team. She is right footed and hits a great service with her right. She is capable on her left, which gives the versatility to play on either side of the formation. O’Donnell’s two-way impact should make her a top performer from this group.
