ECNL North Carolina: Texas Outside Backs Ready to Deliver

<p>The 2025-2026 club soccer season is almost over, but teams competing in the ECNL Girls League still have one more national tournament in their schedules before the Finals.</p>   <p>This weekend, between Saturday and Monday, clubs from all over the country will head to Greensboro, North Carolina, as the city is set to welcome teams in the U15, U16 and U17 age groups for three days of action in the Bryan Park Soccer Complex.</p>   <p>As many as 200 teams will make the trip to North Carolina and 12 of them will be representing the state of Texas, with [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'], [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC'], [program_tooltip program_id='283296' first='Classics' last='Elite'], [program_tooltip program_id='283497' first='Sting' last='Austin'] and Sting Black all sending multiple teams to compete in the final event of the season.</p>   <p>Some really talented players are part of these teams, and we'll take the week leading up to the event to feature them. These outside backs will make an impact:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Thurman will be with the [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC'] G09 team that is set to play against Michigan Hawks Magic, NC Fusion and Santa Rosa United. Combining good size and solid technical skills, she makes a positive impact on the team on both sides of the ball. Thurman uses her big frame to win defensive duels and is very quick to step up and intercept passes in her zone. She doesn't always push forward, but picks the right moments to do it. Thurman's left foot is very skilled and allows her to deliver accurate crosses both in the run of play and in set pieces.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/macie_thurman09/status/1962634322843726110?s=20 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Reddick and her [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'] G09 team have Fairfax VA Union, Bethesda SC and Pateadores in their schedule in North Carolina. Capable of playing on both outside back spots, she's missed significant time due to an injury before returning to action a few months ago and has been doing a good job of regaining her form. Reddick combines solid athleticism and a very well-rounded game, which makes of her a player with an excellent profile to play out wide. She can play as a right back or in midfield and contributes with her ability to make runs and support the team's offense. Ajel is very smooth and direct on the ball and often thrives at getting the ball to the end line and getting crosses into the box. She also delivers defensively, working hard to dispossess opponents and doing a good job when asked to step up and press higher.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2026/02/2J4A0157.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-350562" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Pugsley is part of the Sting Black G11 team that will be tested against GSA, Penn Fusion SA and FC Prime at this weekend's event. She's primarily a right back, but can play anywhere across the backline and perform at a high level. Pugsley consistently pushes forward and does a good job of being an option out wide, stretching the field and getting to the end line to deliver accurate crosses into the box.
