Michigan 2028 Rankings Preview: New Faces and Biggest Risers

The Prep Soccer state rankings for Michigan's 2028 class will be updated this week. Prior to the release of the rankings, check out seven players who are new to the rankings or moving up in the rankings with this update.    Newcomb is a winger on the [program_tooltip program_id='283697' first='Midwest' last='United'] 2010 Girls Academy team. She was part of the Girls Academy All-Star team for the Generation Adidas event earlier this year. She was part of the Gray team that went undefeated at the event including a big win on the final day.    Newcomb can play as a center forward or on the wing. She's dynamic on the ball. She creates space from the defender with her quick burst and ball control. She's a good finisher, but perhaps an even better playmaker. She was exceptional for the GA All-Star team on the wing. She elevated her game when surrounded with that top talent. She's great in 1v1 situations and gets in dangerous spots consistently.    She could improve on her defending. There are moments when it feels like she could be an even more impactful player as a menace in the press.    Newcomb has been a top performer in the Girls Academy this season and looks like one of the top wingers in Michigan in this class.        Bischoff is a winger on the Michigan Hawks 2009 ECNL team. She is listed as a forward/defender on her player profile. She's mainly featured as a forward for her club team this season. She's been prolific in front of goal and earned a spot on the National Selection Game roster for the most recent ECNL event.    Bischoff is a winger who can score in a variety of ways. She's not flashy but she is effective. She had a goal against Sporting Iowa earlier this year that would be a highlight for any player. She took on nearly the whole team before scoring a thunder strike. Bischoff has that type of quality in her arsenal, but she's more likely to find the most efficient way to score thanks to the service provided from her team. The fact that she is an influential player on one of the best teams in the country in the 2009 age group should speak volumes to her quality as a player and prospect.      Owens is a defensive midfielder on the Michigan Hawks 09 ECNL team. She previously played for [program_tooltip program_id='283697' first='Midwest' last='United']. Owens is a left footed midfielder. She's been a stellar addition to the Hawks side. She loves to compete and thrives in the game. She does a lot of the little things well - especially in possession of the ball. She's always scanning and checking her shoulders before receiving the ball. She plays with her head up and routinely contributes with key passes. While she is a defensive midfielder, she can hit a shot from distance thanks to her excellent ball striking technique.    She's a student of the game and shows excellent tactical intelligence in her positioning. Owens is a consistent contributor to the Hawks squad.      Hardy is a defender on the [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2010 ECNL team. She can play center back or outside back. She's an excellent 1v1 defender. She has been utilized as a marking defender to try to silence the top attacker on the opposition. She's quick and physical. She isn't afraid to get into the duel and use her body to win the challenge.    Hardy makes quick reads with the ball at her feet. She doesn't force the pass, but she is ready to spring the attack when the opportunity is on. She's been a key player for the [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] side and one to watch during the upcoming events.      Dziadosz is one of the most unique, singular talents in this class. She's a winger on the [program_tooltip program_id='283695' first='Michigan' last='Jaguars'] 2010 Girls Academy team. She mainly plays on the left wing, but she can play on the right as well. She's right footed, but a capable finisher and crosser with either foot.    Dziadodz stands out for her superb skill with the ball at her feet. She's a bit of a magician in 1v1 situations. She has a knack for manipulating the ball and sending the defender to the ground. She has an excellent first touch and can play with a defender on her back. She's got the burst to get past defenders after the first move and she finishes from difficult angles consistently. Dziadosz is a player scouts should note as she has a different skillset than most wingers.      Hickox is a forward on [program_tooltip program_id='378478' first='Pass' last='FC']. She's part of the state and regional ODP team. She was First Team All-State Division II last season. Hickox was also invited to the Reign FC Combine. She's a dynamic forward who has arguable the most potential from any player outside of the two traditional powerhouse leagues.    Hickox dominates the competition in the National League. She has good footwork, strength to withstand challenges, and excellent composure around the goal. She scores in a variety of ways and she isn't too reliant on one skill to find success. Hickox has the game-breaking quality in the final third to catch the eye of scouts. She is worth the attention as she has special elements to her game.        McCarthy is an attacking midfielder on the Cap City 09 ECNL RL team. Her team qualified for the ECNL RL playoffs this summer. She was also named to the All-State First Team Division II as a freshman last season. She's been dominant in the high school game this season as well. She is coming up with game-winning goals and key assists in every game.    McCarthy is a playmaker in the midfield. She has a booming right foot and can provide an excellent ball from set pieces. As good as she is on set pieces, she also has a knack for getting on the end of services and winning aerial duels. She's scored quite goals with her head this season.
