Michigan Up and Up – Five players scouts must know

The center back from [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] 2011 ECNL had a stellar club season and it carried over into the ECNL playoffs in Seattle. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First Team. She solidified her spot as one of the top defenders in the country. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There is some versatility to her game - and I do think there is a quality to her playing style that suggest a future in an outside back or back three type of role. That said, her play at left center back is elite among prospects at the club level. She is a defensive menace. She is stubborn on the field, competitive, and fearless. She will lunge into a tackle and can mostly get away with it thanks to her athleticism. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She's got the quality on the ball to shine as well. She can break pressure with her passing and her ability to dribble through lines. She definitely made those words ring true - and then some. The [program_tooltip program_id='276692' first='Nationals' last=''] standout was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference First Team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She confirmed her place as one of the best right backs in the country. She's an excellent two-way player. She can play as an attacking midfielder as well. She was named to the ECNL Midwest All-Conference Second Team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Knoll is another player who impressed during the ECNL Playoffs. She had a terrific goal against Legends. The timing of her run and and one-touch finish were both excellent. Knoll had a full season of those type of goals. She's a player with good activity off the ball. She is making the runs and getting into the channels to help her team. She's a tricky player in 1v1 situations. She can play pretty much any spot on the field. She has an excellent read on anticipating the timing of the pass of the opposition. She does well in 1v2 situations with cutting out angles. She plays left back for the Hawks 2010/2011 ECNL team. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Doucet has good physical tools to be an elite outside back. She has the size and athleticism to match up on the wing. She moves her feet well and shows good technique in the duel. There are times when she could be more aggressive in the tackle. She's got the quality and defensive technique to shut the door on players, but she tends to stand them up more often. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Doucet has a good service with her left foot.
