Center Backs Who Locked It Down at Aggieland Friendship Cup

She led their backline with calm and confidence and was very solid defensively, making a strong contribution to their pair of clean sheets. Lawless-Felarca did a good job of keeping opponents under pressure and denying them the ball, but also showed excellent mobility and awareness to run toward her own goal and be the first to get to passes in behind. Her team used a back three against Lonestar, and she played on the right side, a spot that helped her bring out the best of her game on both sides of the ball. Pugsley was extremely reliable defensively, not only controlling her zone but also tucking in to cover her teammates when needed. She stood out defensively in what was a strong offensive performance by them against the Texans, spending time on both sides of their back three. Lehner was always on top of things and was very quick to react, staying one step ahead of opponents and having no trouble shutting them down. One of their captains, she was a stud on the backline, providing impressive defensive coverage for the team. Harris was very good at reading plays and intercepting passes, but also thrived with her positioning inside the box, winning many duels in the air. She showed interesting qualities on the backline for them, combining excellent positioning, good physical tools and calm under pressure. Fortunus did a good job of physically dominating her opponents when needed, but also won the ball numerous times due to her positioning and quickness. She stood out for her solid positioning and her mobility in central defense, which allowed her to step up and cover her teammates on many occasions. One of the team's captains, Lehrmann also communicated very well with her teammates.
