Missouri/Kansas Rankings Preview: Early season standouts

The Missouri/Kansas 2029 rankings will be updated this week on Prep Soccer. Prior to the release of the rankings, check out a scouting report on a few of the players who stood out from preseason and early season league games in the region.    Angell is a center midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='321167' first='Union' last='KC'] 2010/2011 GA team. She is a two-way midfielder who thirves in the No. 8 role. She has been part of Girls Academy Talent ID events in the past.   Angell is an excellent defender. She reads the touch of the opposition and pounces with the timing of her tackle. She uses her body well in the duel.   On the ball, she's quick to make decisions and thrives in the transition moments of the game. She's good with the ball on either foot and has excellent vision.   Angell is a key player in the center of the field for her club team. She can also play as a center back. She has the physical profile to be that type of impact player at the college level as well. She is an elite prospect from the Girls Academy League.     Sauer is a defender on the [program_tooltip program_id='320266' first='Missouri' last='Rush'] ECNL 2010/2011 team. She was previously an ECNL All-Regional Team selection. She's been a key player for her club team for some time.   She's a center back with an intriguing player profile. She's not a typical prospect for the position. She can provide positional flexibility from the role. She's calm and confident on the ball. She is excellent on the dribble and can break pressure in possession. She's good at identifying weaknesses in the shape of the opposition and adjusting her shape. She moves off the ball to open up passing lanes for her teammates.   Sauer is a key player for her club side. She unlocks a lot of the game for her team with her soccer smarts. She's a unique fit as a center back for the next level, but her intelligence will allow her to thrive as an outside back or defensive midfielder as well.     Saunders is a defender/midfielder on the [program_tooltip program_id='321167' first='Union' last='KC'] 2010/2011 GA team. She can play center back or defensive midfielder. She previously was on the 2010 GA team.   Saunders is a player who impressed during the preseason. The ability to play multiple positions definitely stands out. However, I believe she has the tools to be an elite center back for the future. She reads the game well. Does an excellent job of organizing the players around her.   Her defensive strengths pop from game film. She's good at playing as an on-ball defender. She can jump on the bad touch. She is also good at cutting out passes into the target forward. She plays on the [program_tooltip program_id='320266' first='Missouri' last='Rush'] 2010/2011 ECNL team. She was previously on the [program_tooltip program_id='320266' first='Missouri' last='Rush'] 2010 team.   The non-stop nature of her play certainly stands out from game film. She's always moving and looking for ways to impact the game. The busyness of her style is contrasting to a lot of the other prospects in this group.   Boirie is a good finisher. She knows when to tuck home a one-touch finish and when to take a touch in the box. This means that quite a few of the players will get a ton of additional exposure during the upcoming campaign.   Legends kicked off their season with an unbeaten opening weekend (1-0-1). Nerius stood out from game film. She is a blistering pace forward with track speed. She can race past defenders with her graceful running. Nerius is quick to get off a shot. She's right footed, but good with either foot. She is good in her role as a center forward. The elite pace makes her a top prospect in this class.     Gabriella or Ella Clutter is a defensive midfielder/winger on the KC Legends 2010/2011 GA team. She's a boss of the midfield. There isn't a ton of information available about her. I'm expecting her player profile to gain a ton of traction during this season.   Clutter played on the left wing at the start of one game and then popped up as the defensive midfielder in another game. She was superb in the No. 6 role. She's athletic, competitive, and sharp on the ball.   Clutter is going to climb up these rankings quickly if the opening set of games is the standard for her throughout the season.
