Ruy’s passion and energy for the game is very obvious from the first time you see him. He plays with determination and he plays with a lot of grit. It also helps that he is exceptionally talented. He is one of the fastest keepers in Northern California in terms of his reactions to a shot or an attacker coming into the area. He pounces, and does so quickly. He can cover well in the air as he is good at taking away the near post and using his athleticism to cover the far post. He comes out quickly, and does so aggressively to where an attacker has to make a decision, and they usually get out of the way because Ruy comes like a freight train. He’s a fantastic shot stopper, he does not spill the ball and his positioning is top notch.
