There are some leagues in California's Bay Area that standout, and get a lot of attention, and deservedly so. They are the Diablo Athletic League and the Marin County Athletic League. Both feature top teams and great talent as teams from these leagues send girls off to college to play quite frequently.

From those two leagues, here are some players that stood out last week.

[player_tooltip player_id='19828' first='Maddie' last='Boone'], San Marin, Junior, Midfielder

Boone had a nice week, scoring the lone goal in a 1-0 win over San Rafael to keep the Mustangs alive in the MCAL playoff race. Boone is a very athletic player and is a ball-winner in the midfield.

Katelyn Crossman, College Park, Senior, Striker

Crossman had a great week, scoring three goals, two of them against Campolindo in a narrow defeat and one against Northgate in a win. She is very crafty, has a lot of pace and is a physical striker.

[player_tooltip player_id='19379' first='Emma' last='de la Cruz'], Las Lomas, Senior, Striker

de la Cruz is a very dynamic player, and it showed last week as she had two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win over Campolindo. She is a very technical player who is excellent in 1v1 situations and when she has the opportunity to finish, she usually does.

Patricia DePalma, Branson, Senior, Keeper

The Bulls have played 15 matches and have conceded only one goal, and in fact did not concede a goal for the first 14 matches of the season. DePalma is a big reason why Branson is so stingy with letting in goals. She has very good hands, she is good at positioning herself and she's a good distributor. She had a three-shutout week last week.

Tatiana Diaz, Clayton Valley, Sophomore, Midfielder

Diaz served up three assists last week, including setting up the game-winner against a very good Acalanes team, serving it up on a free kick. She is very calm and collected in the midfield and very good on the ball.

Belen Hitchcock, Archie Williams, Sophomore, Keeper

Hitchcock had three shutouts last week for an Archie Williams team now ranked inside the top ten in the NCS. She has good size and she is a good shot-stopper.

Jacque Peacock, Acalanes, Senior, Forward

Peacock has typically been a defender, and plays center back during the club season, but she has mostly played forward for the Dons. She is incredibly fast, very technical and quite a composed player. She scored the loan goal in a recent 1-0 win over Las Lomas, and then moved to defense the last 20 minutes to help secure the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='54227' first='Sabine' last='Szylko'], Tamalpais, Sophomore, Defender

Szylko scored a hat trick against Novato, and then followed that up with an assist against San Rafael, keeping Tam in the MCAL title race. She has good pace, she is good on the dribble and she displays excellent aerial ability.

There are some leagues in California's Bay Area that standout, and get a lot of attention, and deservedly so. The East Bay Athletic League and the West Catholic Athletic League are among two that feature a lot of top teams and a lot of top players, thus leading to a lot of buzz and a lot of coverage.
