An extremely athletic center back, Charles knows how to use his physical tools to defend the penalty box and is very difficult to beat because of how dominant he can be. He spent most of the season with North Texas SC in the MLS Next Pro League and has added a fair deal of maturity and experience at a higher level to his game, becoming even more of a force on the backline. Very strong in the air, Charles has a good presence in the attacking penalty box in set pieces and often scores goals with headers. Also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, he’s also very skilled on the ball, remaining calm in possession and distributing it efficiently out of the back with short and long passes.

The Dallas captain formed a strong center back duo with Mikey Murphey. Very physical players, the two controlled the penalty box and the central area of the field, forcing the Dynamo attackers to go out wide – they were only beaten in a quick transition play, which started in a turnover. Charles also contributed to the team’s offense and paved the way for the team’s win by scoring the first goal with an excellent header. He was also very patient and comfortable on the ball, hitting some great long diagonal passes.

is a name that many people will hear about often in the next six months. He has taken over a prominent role within the FC Dallas academy. He is a defensive midfielder who makes the game seem so easy – smooth on the ball, sharp in the tackle, physical, plays with a confident swagger. He has played for both the U16 and U17 team this season for FC Dallas.
