Chase is an underrated prospect that is going to surprise a number of people at the next level – some rankings have identified her as a national prospect, but she is not on the PrepSoccer rankings yet (She will be in the near future). She is playing with the WPSL right now – as well as with the Spokane Sounders in the Girls Academy. Chase is a defensive midfielder or a center back – and she could be a star in either role for the next level. I think her player profile lends more to a center back for a top program. The elite skill she brings to the game is her aerial ability. She is the best player I’ve seen from the state in using her head – and scoring goals with her head. She is a weapon on every set piece and corner kick. Her athleticism and competitive drive cover up some weaknesses in her game at the club level – her first touch needs to improve if she stays as a defensive midfielder. She is a terrific tackler in the open field and her athleticism really shines when she is battling for the ball – elite lateral quickness for a player in this class.
