Chavez scored a cracking strike to lift SYC U19s over PDA 5-4 on the weekend. The speedy midfielder took on multiple defenders and broke past them with relative ease, then hammered home a low shot to the near post. He is a bit of an interesting story in that he comes to SYC from D.C. United’s Academy. He was also part of the USYNT ID Pool at the U14 level. He has excellent field vision and can make clear, direct passes to both sides of the pitch. A player of his caliber is a major addition for SYC and should help them throughout the season.
