Cook is the offensive linchpin in the FC Dallas U16 team in the MLS Next League and made his debut with North Texas SC in the MLS Next Pro League one year ago, becoming the youngest player to do it at the age of 14. Playing as the team’s No. 10, he’s their main chance creator, but also delivers goals at a good rate, displaying excellent finishing skills. Cook’s quality on the ball is, at times, truly unbelievable, as he gets to manipulate it in tight spaces with incredible precision and intelligence. The midfielder also has excellent vision and is extremely accurate with his set piece deliveries, racking up a very high number of assists every season. He’s a constant presence with US Soccer youth teams and was called up for a training camp with the U16 team last April.

One of the most talented and creative playmakers in the entire country in his age group, Cook is the main chance-creator for FC Dallas . An attacking midfielder by definition, he circulates everywhere in the field looking to get on the ball, occasionally dropping back to get it from defenders and, at other moments, drifting wide to attack defenders in 1v1 duels. Cook’s footwork is some of the best in the country, and it allows him to create moments of pure magic when surrounded by multiple defenders, as he’s creative and confident to make it past them, getting the job done more times than not. The midfielder also hits the ball very well in every possible way, being an elite passer, a reliable finisher, and a real threat in set pieces.

Despite playing one age group up, Cook is one of the standouts for this FC Dallas team. An extremely skilled and intelligent attacking midfielder, he’s a constant threat in the final third with his ability to move into great spots and his impressive intelligence. Cook, nicknamed Steel, is not very physical, but the task of dispossessing him is an incredibly difficult one as he is extremely quick with his dribbling and keeps the ball very close to his feet at all times. He creates many chances with his decisive passes in the final third, as an elite No. 10 would, but also does a great job of getting into the penalty box to finish chances – he’s also very dangerous in set pieces.
