Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Glynn is a center back who plays for Austin FC U16 in the MLS Next League. He appears in third place among the defenders and sixth overall in Texas following the update. Glynn combines physical and technical skills at the right rate and anchors their backline with his solid and efficient game. Defensively, he stands out for his positioning, always being in the right spot to make plays and doing a good job of keeping forwards under pressure inside and around the penalty box. Glynn is one of the best ball-playing center backs in the state, remaining calm and clear-minded when under pressure and being capable of hitting accurate long passes out of the back.

and had an important role in Austin’s victory. He appeared very well in the attacking penalty box on a corner kick to score the second goal and start his team’s reaction in a critical moment of the match. He did some good defensive plays, too, benefiting from his positioning and quickness to make stops, and helped Austin sustain the Dynamo’s final push. Glynn also thrived in possession, demonstrating confidence and intelligence to move the ball instead of forcing long passes out of the back.

A center back with a solid combination of physical and technical skills, Glynn is a key piece in the team’s defensive system. More commonly used as a left-sided center back with Austin, he does a great job of reading plays and stepping into the right spots to make an impact, be it anticipating a pass or showing up to cover a teammate in need. Besides his mobility, Glynn also stands out for his impressive calm on the backline, as he never looks fazed and consistently makes the right choices, even when under pressure or outnumbered. The center back also makes a massive impact with his passing range, picking the best option, and having the confidence to execute difficult passes out of the back.

Defender. Center back. Originally from Iowa, joined Austin FC full time in January of 2024. Quickly earned opportunities with the U15 team (playing up an age group) in training and at events. Playing with his own age group, he wore the captain’s armband. Right footed. Poised defender. Never seemed to be nervous. Excellent passer. Squeezed some passes into tight windows. Needs to improve in aerial duels. He got beat on a couple of drop kicks when he tracked the runner and didn’t win the header and left the center of the field vulnerable. Glynn was one of two players from Austin FC to get an invite to the US Soccer U14 Boys National Team. I rate him as the best prospect for that club in the 2010 age group. He has the physical tools to be a center back at the professional level. There are areas for improvement, but he is the best passer among center backs in this class by a considerable margin. He is a leader on the field and will be a building block for Austin FC’s academy.
