She reads the game well, positions herself intelligently, and times her tackles effectively. In addition, she is capable of stepping into midfield to link play and provide width. Improving her ability to distribute the ball quickly out of the back and adding more confidence in attacking transitions will help her overall development. Costa’s defensive reliability and versatility make her an important piece in the 2028 group.

Costa is an outside back on the Penn Fusion 09 ECNL team. I’ve seen her play as a right back. Penn Fusion leaves the wings open for the outside backs to attack and possibly hit a cross. Costa succeeds often at that. She will fly down the touch line and gain a step on her mark with her pace. When she has space, she is good at picking up her head and hitting the cross with an intended target. She provided an assist in a recent game with her offensive contributions.
