Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Chaump is the second-highest-ranked forward in the Rankings and is listed in fifth-place overall. She goes to school at Lake Highlands in the Dallas area, and is one of the top players on the Sting Royal U19 team in the ECNL league. Chaump’s well-rounded skillset allows her to make an impact in a lot of different ways in teh final third, and she’s very intelligent when it comes to understanding what the match requires and delivering it. She is a constant threat when used on the wings, as her pace and dribbling ability make her beat defenders out wide more often than not. Chaump is an excellent finisher, which shows more when she plays centrally, but also stands out for her ability to create for her teammates. She’s also a ‘big moment’ type of player, who steps up and performs when the stakes are the highest.

Chaump was excellent again in her sides 2-1 defeat to Real Colorado. She scored a lovely goal to level it at 1-1. She really understands when to drop deep and link up with her midfield or turn and be a little more direct. A disappointing end to a fantastic season for her and her Sting team.

She was excellent today against the mighty Slammers HB Koge. She scored the one and only goal in this game. She was a constant problem for Slammers throughout with her hold up play and direct dribbling at defenders. She has excellent touch and vision to find passing lanes. Real Colorado awaits in the Championship on Monday.

Chaump is, in many ways, the focal point of Sting’s offense and she steps up to the task and delivers goals and assists at a high rate. Displaying a great combination of physical and technical skills, she’s very difficult to stop and can be used in different roles in the front line. Chaump plays more frequently as a right winger, successfully using her pace and dribbling skills to beat defenders and get into dangerous spots. She’s very direct and aggressive on the ball and rarely hesitates or seems out of ideas in the final third. Chaump has excellent vision and often sets teammates up to score in easy tap-ins, but she’s also an excellent finisher herself, which allows her to thrive when used as a center forward too.

as the two consistently looked for each other up top and switched roles. Renegades had no answers for her runs down the right as she beat her defenders time and time again to take the ball to the end line, but also brought it inside on a few occasions, finding great passes behind the backline with her left foot.

Chaump was part of the Sting Black team that completed their schedule in the event with two wins and one loss. I got to watch her and the teammates in their first match in Dallas, a 1-0 win over De Anza Force, in which she was one of their main offensive weapons. Playing more centrally than she used to do in the past, Chaump was very dangerous in the final third with her ability to perform different roles in her team. She was very good when working as the focal point of their attack, getting on the end of long passes and combining well through the middle, but also moved wide to take advantage of her pace to beat defenders. The forward also appeared well when she dropped deep to get on the ball and find her teammates in wider spots and sprinted to the penalty box to get ready for their crosses.

Chaump will lead Sting Dallas Black ECNL 08’s offense for another season. One of the most complete and dynamic forwards in Texas, she’s a handful to any defender with her incredible combination of physical and technical tools. She typically plays as a right winger and very few defenders can slow her down even a little bit because of her ability to dribble in progression and to change directions. Chaump is very technical and has excellent offensive instincts, often beating defenders with split-second decisions that would be impossible to anticipate. She finishes well with either foot, is very calm in front of the goal and can also be used as a target for long passes because of her size and her ability to use it to control the space.

Even playing one age group up in College Station, Chaump’s Sting Dallas Black 08 ECNL team was dominant, getting two wins and outscoring opponents by seven to one. She contributed two goals and one assist and was a constant threat on the right with her ability to dribble the ball and direct style in the final third. Chaump had great success with her runs out wide, using her pace and dribbling to beat opponents and create chances. She circulated well around the penalty box, at times getting on the end of long passes, and scored a beautiful goal with a shot from outside the penalty box against Albion Hurricanes FC 07 ECNL.

A very dangerous wide player, Chaump scored Sting Black’s goal in the final against Solar. Very quick, yet physical, she is a player who makes the most of the space given to her, making dangerous runs with and without the ball. The winger has great quality on the ball and a very high soccer IQ, which allows her to find good solutions to plays and execute them well. She also plays an important role for her team by getting on the end of long passes when they need to play direct.

Chaump offered a lot to Sting from her winger position. She started the match on the right and ended it on the left, but produced at a great level on either side. She was very dangerous with the ball at her feet, going at opponents and using her body to keep possession and also making combination plays with her teammates. Chaump also had a lot of success getting on the end of long, diagonal passes launched by the center backs, getting Sting possession in a more advanced area of the field. Her hard work was rewarded with the team’s last goal in the match.
