Burkholder is the starting goalkeeper in the Challenge SC G10 team that will have FC Delco, Jacksonville FC and SoCal Blues as opponents in the event. A goalkeeper with USYNT experience, she’s one of the standouts of the team and gives them a lot of confidence with her strong play between the posts. Burkholder is very quick when leaving her spot to challenge opponents 1v1 and also shines with impressive moves between the posts. She communicates very well with her teammates and has a strong right leg, which allows her to deliver accurate long passes out of the back.

Burkholder had a strong performance for Challenge between the posts and kept her team in the game with some nice saves. She did a good job of quickly getting out of the goal to challenge Nordstrom when she got behind the backline in Sting Austin ‘s goal, but couldn’t have stopped her shot. Burkholder made an impressive save in a 1v1 play in the first half and another one in a shot from outside the box in the second half, demonstrating excellent positiong. She communicated well with her teammates the entire time and was very accurate with her punts and long passes out of the back.

Burkholder is a goalkeeper with Challenge SC and was selected as the second-best prospect in our Rankings. She played up with the club’s 15s teams in the last ECNL season and performed as a veteran, producing impressive stops between the posts and providing some vocal leadership to their backline. Much of Burkholder’s efficiency in goal comes from her ability to read plays and react to them, but she’s also extremely skilled, making use of superior technique and superior body moves to make saves when she has to. Present in several US Soccer ID camps, she’s very calm, makes the right choices with her saves and can deliver accurate long passes and punts out of the back.

Present in multiple US Soccer ID camps, she’s an extremely technical goalie, who has a well-developed game for her age. Furkholder is not super tall or athletic, but never puts a foot wrong between the posts and is as capable of making spectacular saves as anyone. The mental side of her game is another of her strengths and she’s extremely consistent, mature and confident to make plays in the box. Burkholder can also find opponents in the attacking half with her punts, with a high success rate.
