ECNL North Carolina: Texas Goalkeepers Set To Shine

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2025-2026 club soccer season is almost over, but teams competing in the ECNL Girls League still have one more national tournament in their schedules before the Finals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend, between Saturday and Monday, clubs from all over the country will head to Greensboro, North Carolina, as the city is set to welcome teams in the U15, U16 and U17 age groups for three days of action in the Bryan Park Soccer Complex.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As many as 200 teams will make the trip to North Carolina and 12 of them will be representing the state of Texas, with [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'], [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC'], [program_tooltip program_id='283296' first='Classics' last='Elite'], [program_tooltip program_id='283497' first='Sting' last='Austin'] and Sting Black all sending multiple teams to compete in the final event of the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some really talented players are part of these teams, and we'll take the week leading up to the event to feature them. She has plenty of experience at the ECNL level and stands out for her excellent game between the posts. Trevino is not the tallest goalkeeper, but she makes up for it with great positioning and impressive reflexes, which allow her to get to difficult shots in the corners. The goalkeeper has good length and uses it very well to expand her range between the posts. Birdwell is very quick to get to the ground and extremely technical with her actions, always being on top of things and very rarely giving up rebounds. A goalkeeper with USYNT experience, she's one of the standouts of the team and gives them a lot of confidence with her strong play between the posts. Burkholder is very quick when leaving her spot to challenge opponents 1v1 and also shines with impressive moves between the posts. She's a vocal leader for them, consistently communicating with her teammates and keeping the defensive system organized in every situation. Kimmel has excellent reflexes and plays with remarkable determination between the posts, demanding a lot of effort from opponents to score on her.
