Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Birdwell is the fifth-best-ranked goalkeeper in the list and appears in 35th place overall. She plays high school soccer for Highland Park and represents Sting Black in the ECNL League. Birdwell is on the taller side of goalkeepers in the age group and uses her length to stand out as an elite shot-stopper between the posts. She moves very well laterally and is very explosive, having the ability to reach the upper corners with her stretched arms, while also being very quick to get to the ground. Birdwell is calm and efficient with her actions and transmits a lot of stability to her team, also when she needs to use her feet in possession.

Birdwell showed poise and flashes of greatness during the 2026 ECNL Nationals this week. Maggie has great coverage of the net and moves great from post to post while opponents are on the attack. Birdwell can get tall and reach top corners and also has the ability to get low while set. Maggie finished strong with a clutch save diving to her right in the PK shootout versus Select ECNL G10 to win the match. She is going to be a GK to watch coming out of Texas.
