She was crowned the BIIF (Big Island Interscholastic Federation) Division II Player of the Year. Huddleston was also officially listed on the All-BIIF First Team (2024-25) as a standout player for Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii in the previous year. She has also won a national championship with the Slammers FC HB Koge team during the 2023/2024 season. She played a solid match in the opener against MVLA. Her ability to shut down running lanes and cut off runners making diagonal runs into the 18-yard box. Kahali’s helped to slow down the high-powered MVLA offense by staying calm under pressure and by making clean tackles. She was also good at making long ball passes and winning 50/50 challenges.

She plays as a defender for her high school team but can move up as a forward when needed. Last season, she made the 2024-2025 Girls Soccer – Division II All-League as a back (defender). At the club level, Kahalia earned a spot on the 2024 girls roster for the id2 National Identification/Olympic Development Program. She also plays for Hawaii Rush and Slammers FC ECNL in California. Our scouts noted her size and strength as well as movement with the ball. One of the most recent video clips showed her range as a forward while scoring 4 goals in one match. Kahali’a is a former national champion with her Slammers team, and we hope to see her compete at the USYNT level sooner rather than later.

NWSL kind talent from Hawaii who will be looking to repeat as a National Champion. How she hasn’t been in Youth National Team Camps is one of the biggest mysteries in youth soccer if you ask me. She’s a Rolls-Royce of a defender that has everything needed to be successful. She’s big, she’s strong, she’s fast, she gets stuck in, she’s great on the ball and she can pick out any pass on the field within 40 yards. Major talent.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw that Huddleston didn’t make either of these U15 squads. It’s scouting malpractice that this young lady is not a part of the 48 players that have been invited to these two camps. She lives in Hawaii and maybe that’s the reason she remains on the outside looking in. She is the best defender on the best 2010 team in the country and defending ECNL National Champions Slammers HB Koge. And in my opinion the best pure defender in the 2010 age group nationally. I call on the selection committee to give this young lady a chance and you will not be disappointed.

How this girl is not a shoe-in for the USA Youth National Team is mind-boggling to me. What is the criteria for a defender to make this squad? She is so fast, so strong, reads the game so well and can pick out any pass from the back line. She also does an excellent job driving forward into space and is really astute at poking balls away from attackers. She has a package of tools that I just have not seen from a girl in her age group. Call her up!

The highly ranked defender proved her quality during the ECNL event. The Slammers Koge right center back had a highlight-reel worthy game against MVLA. She made a number of game-deciding plays. The sequence worth noting happened early as her accurate distribution to center forward

forced MVLA to drop back and account for that type of range of passing. It opened up the center of the field for Slammers Koge and then allowed Huddleston to play a variety of passes through the rest of the game to keep the defense guessing. Defensively, she made a number of key plays including a late tackle to stop an attack early in the first half that shut off a clear chance for MVLA. She showed excellent recovery speed and good timing with her tackle. Huddleston helped Slammers Koge finish the event with an undefeated record.
