She’s really good at handling the ball and makes quick passes to wingers or players checking back. Kate is one of the key defensive players on the Surf team who can make quality runs when pushing up. She should be making a decision soon on where she will play at the collegiate level.

Bilal is absolutely tremendous with the ball at her feet. She is very comfortable pushing up, spearheading an attack and breaking down opposing players. She gets up the pitch quickly, showing off how comfortable she is on the ball and how skilled she is in possession. She has tremendous vision and range of passing, delivering textured balls to all layers of the pitch. She can link up well, too, when she’s playing on the outside, showing the ability to move the ball quickly and to know when to underlap or when to get down the touch line.

Looking at Bilal’s highlights from the past year, it’s obvious that she’s put a serious effort into improving her game in the past 12 months. She’s been diligent in her approach and the results are starting to show. She earned the start at right center back for her ECNL side in the opener of the season last month. She was a key player in the shutout. She was tenacious defensively, never giving an inch to the attacker. She’s confident in possession and limits mistakes. There’s every reason to believe Bilal will continue to improve this season, which makes her one of those players with a really high ceiling from this class.
