Leifried is headed south in 2027 as the Bay Area Surf star has chosen the University of Southern California to be her next home. She fits the mold of a player that the Trojans seem to interest. Versatile, ultra competitive, playmakers. The next level may be calling before her 4 years are up. But until then perfect fit.

She just recently got back from winning a tournament championship with Team Northwest. She is also a top-tier midfielder/defender and nationally ranked player in the 2027 class. Savannah is a player who can lock in and rise to the level of competition. I’ve evaluated her at multiple times when she played up in ECNL competitions as well as at the semi-pro level with the San Francisco Glens . She never disappoints, and her competitiveness is what impresses me the most. Her ability to play a defensive wingback position solidifies the backline, and her attacks from the flanks can cause havoc on defenses. She is also a USYNT U-17 call-up. She also participated in the Bay FC and Gotham Talent ID centers. She is definitely on the uncommitted list, but I’m sure many top-level colleges are making a push to sign her

Here she is again. Leifried balled out against FC Dallas and had one of the best assists I’ve ever seen in a youth soccer game. In the last minute of the game where she played every single minute. She won a beautiful slide tackle right next to the sideline, popped back up to block a clearance from the left back, won the ball from her, took two dribbles then put in an incredible cross that her teammate chested in for a game tying 1-1 draw that sent the game into PK’s. Unfortunately Bay Area Surf lost the shootout and Dallas advanced but that Leifried assist I’ll never forget.

Leifried was on my list of players to watch and she did not disappoint. She played left back, right back, and central midfield. She scored a great goal from right back smashing a shot with real power past goalie from a tough angle. She’s becoming more and more of a physical presence on the field. She’s playing up a year but you wouldn’t of guessed that by watching. She’s a bully out there imposing her will on opposition. Really good facilitator when she gets on the ball too, her vision is super advanced.

Leifried is a top player. Super technically sound, extremely athletic and tough competitor. The word on the street is she is playing up with in the U19 age group during these playoffs which is well deserved. She is well worth a watch!

Leifried played as a right back as well as on the right wing. She made quality passes to players making runs to the box as well as runs in the channel. Her corner kicks found players in the box, and her change of speed got her into scoring positions for power shots on goal or to lay passes off to players in better positions. She also did well tracking back and closing down players making attempts at breaking the line. Her contributions on the offensive side seem to be getting better each time I see her on the pitch.

She is sometimes activated to the 07 squad. She played comfortably at the midfield position and pushed up on attack while firing off a few shots on goal. Just by observing her play, it would be difficult to believe she’s an 08 player. Her passing skills are top level as she continuously made quick and precise passes to diagonal and overlapping runners. I really liked her change of speed as she was able to close down on the ball and make hard shots on goal. She recently finished the Gotham FC Camp and was named the Defensive MVP and runner up to the camp MVP. She also competes on the San Francisco Glens SC (USL W-League). She is also a standout for the Bay Area Surf ECNL G08 team, which will be playing in the National Playoffs later this month in San Diego, CA.

Fresh off a 10 day trial with Gotham FC, Leifried scored a hat-trick for SF Glen’s against Academica in a 9-0 win. Incredible athlete such a fast burst of speed. So much power when striking a ball and her opposition bounces off of her. Great first touch and her first instinct is almost always to go forward.

She primarily played in the midfield position, but her presence in all areas on the pitch left a mark. Precise passing, anticipating attacking lanes on defense, and thinking one to two steps ahead are her strengths. Savannah is one of the best players in her age group, and she has proven to play up with the 07’s when needed. She is ranked by Prep Soccer as #10 in CA and #6 in position. She showed grit and determination as her team “weathered the storm” against a high-powered Force team.

Playing at the 6 for her Bay Area Surf team against Eastside Leifried was the primary option for her team to play through. She combines with her midfield partners Terren Davis Terren Davis 5'5" | M Berkeley | 2026 CA really well. She is so good on the half turn and plays the game with an intelligence that you rarely see.
