Ward is a fierce competitor, someone who wants to win every ball, who attacks every ball in the air with desire and energy. She really gets after defenders, putting the pressure on them from the word go. She is great on taking them on 1v1, but is also clever in her movement off the ball in finding pockets of space to exploit and creases to make explosive runs through. She’s really dangerous in the air when a ball is sent into the box. She’s a clinical finisher, good with the ball and an unselfish, creative player.

Ward and her team Sting Black 08 were second in the Texas Conference with 11 wins, one loss and three ties and will appear in the Champions League. She likes to play more centrally and that complements very well the team’s attacking system, which also features some talented wingers. Ward uses her physicality very well to operate with her back to the goal, getting on the end of throw-ins and long passes and doing some solid holdup play. The striker also knows her way inside the penalty box and is excellent at creating space with quick moves and finishing.
