It’s no different in the Texas Conference of the ECNL Girls League, where several matches will be taking place across the states of Texas and Colorado this weekend. As we wish all teams an excellent start to their seasons, here are three sides to keep an eye on this week:
Classics Elite ECNL G06/05
The San Antonio-based side will play their first matches in the season at home, facing OK Energy FC ECNL G06/05 on Saturday and Tulsa SC ECNL G06/05 on Sunday. Classics Elite have a deep and talented roster, with quality everywhere. Neliaj Deleon Neliaj Deleon GK Georgetown | 2024 #200 Nation TX is a stud between the posts and gives the team a lot of stability. Angelina Lopez Angelina Lopez M State TX is extremely versatile, being capable of lining up on central defense or in midfield and can be deadly in set pieces. She typically plays on the backline, so Isabella Hartofelis Isabella Hartofelis null | M Reagan | 2025 TX and Ashlyn DiGioia Ashlyn DiGioia 5'3" | M San Antonio Johnson (TX) | 2024 TX can pair in the middle and do their two-way work. Up top, Camila Palacios Camila Palacios F Claudia Taylor Johnson | 2025 State #251 Nation TX and Mabry Williams Mabry Williams F San Antonio Johnson (TX) | 2024 State #102 Nation TX combine very well, giving the team excellent movement and finishing skills.
Colorado Rapids G07
The Rapids started the season well, securing a 2-0 road win against in-state rivals Real Colorado Athletico ECNL G07 last weekend. This time, they will be at home, hosting Houston sides Albion Hurricanes FC ECNL G07 on Saturday and Challenge SC ECNL G07 on Sunday. Outside back Ivy Sobel is one of the most promising players on Colorado’s roster – she’s capable of playing on both sides and is very solid both defensively and offensively. Also keep an eye out for Trevianna Barto, who can play on midfield and as a fullback and reads the game very well, making good interceptions and attacking the open space with her off-the-ball movement. The Rapids also have great depth in the middle with Aubrielle Hilliker, Keira Truofreh, Eleanor Bante and Abriana Ruiz all emerging as good options.
Sting Dallas Black ECNL G08
The side from Dallas will get on the field just once this weekend, facing Sting Dallas Royal ECNL G08 on Sunday. Last weekend, they had a strong display at the Aggielend Friendship Cup. A new addition to the team in 2023, center back Tyller Grimes Tyller Grimes 5'11" | D Timber Creek | 2026 TX will make the team’s defensive system stronger alongside Reese Liner Reese Liner null | D Highland Park | 2026 State #49 Nation TX with her game – besides being very good at winning the ball back, she’s also technical and will help the team’s buildup. In midfield, Mimi Flanagan Mimi Flanagan 5'4" | M Ursuline Academy Of Dallas | 2026 State TX and Maheera Dali Maheera Dali M TX keep the team going. Black’s attacking trio of Danielle Chaump Danielle Chaump 5'10" | F Lake Highlands | 2026 State TX , Leah Simpson Leah Simpson 5'5" | F Hebron Varsity | 2026 TX and Kyleigh Ward Kyleigh Ward F Midlothian | 2026 TX probably makes of the team’s attack its strongest area as the three combine very well and provide the team with great firepower.
