Originally a midfielder, Flanagan was as difference-maker playing left back for Sting Dallas Black and led the team’s comeback win with two goals. She scored the first one in a beautiful shot from a very difficult angle and a few minutes later found the back of the net again with a powerful finish from inside the penalty box. Flanagan played with tremendous intensity and dominated the left flank on both sides of the ball. She was very effective offensively, going at defenders with great tenacity, and also kept things under control on the defensive side of the ball.

The heart of Sting Black’s midfield, Flanagan came up big offensively for the team in the Texas Cup, scoring the game-winner in the semifinal and converting her penalty kick in the shootout. She’s a real engine in midfield, covering a lot of ground and playing with great intensity on both sides of the ball. Flanagan is a hard-nosed defensive player, who works hard to win the ball, but she also knows very well what to do with it, connecting good passes and accelerating the game in the attacking field. She also likes to catch opponents off guard with her runs through the middle of the field.

Flanagan brought a lot of energy to the center of the field for Sting. She covered a lot of ground defensively and played hard, helping the team win possession on multiple occasions. She was also very productive on offense, using her vision and quick thinking to connect one-time, efficient passes and get the ball forward in no time. Flanagan was also very good at making quick runs through the middle in transition plays and created some promising opportunities for his team by doing that.
