Mullaney is a vertically stretching forward. She uses the defense constantly with her runs off the ball. She is great at timing her diagonal runs so the opposition has to defend the splitting pass between the center backs. She also provides that pass when she is up top with an equally as talented forward. Mullaney is a good finisher. She never quits on a play and benefits from that persistence with a number of goals scored off of rebounds on blocked shots/saves. Mullaney has impressed with this finisher’s instinct this season.

Mullaney and her Classics Elite RL 08 team got one win and two losses in the event. She played as a forward for them, but operated more as a ‘false nine’, dropping deeper to get on the ball and make plays. Mullaney did a great job of understanding how to explore the space vacated by the defender who tracked her to the midfield line, making quick moves to create room and hitting very precise diagonal passes to the wingers in behind the backline. She also displayed good dribbling ability around the penalty box and fired dangerous shots with both feet.
