Padilla was Inter Miami ‘s most consistent and efficient player in the match. Playing as a box-to-box midfielder, he did good work on the ball, helping his team break Austin’s press by moving into great spots to receive passes and distributing the ball intelligently. In the second half, with his team down a player, he moved to defensive midfielder and constantly slid between the center backs to initiate the team’s buildup, which he did with great efficiency. Padilla also helped create plays when he stepped into the attacking half with smart first-time passes.
