Excellent midfield player for the Michigan Hawks who is a college coaches dream. I love her competitive drive and attitude. She has an excellent physical profile and the technical ability to go along with it. Otieno is a deep lying box to box player who will contribute on both ends to any program lucky enough to have her. She was the engine in midfield that helped lead her side to an ECNL National Championship this past July.

Otieno was playing a more defensive role in this one and was super effective in her role. She won a ton of tackles and was very tidy in possession. She is an extreme competitor that throws her body into 50-50’s coming out on top the majority of the time.

The Michigan Hawks striker was a handful to deal with for Mustang. She is a fast closing presser that makes opposition defenders very uncomfortable. She has been at USA Youth Talent ID centers and you can see why.

Otieno can play any position on the field and it feels like she has a similar game to Penn State and US Youth National Team player Katie Scott. She can be a midfielder or forward for her club and still shine as a defender for the Youth National Team. Watching game film from last year, it was very clear how Otieno impacted the game at the ECNL level. Competing against players her own age, she looked a step faster than them. She closed down on the opposition in the blink of an eye and create havoc all over the field. On the ball, she played at an unmatchable pace. She didn’t start every game for Hawks last season, but she will be a player who will be impossible to take off the field this postseason.
