Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Weiss is listed as the sixth-best defender and ranks 19th overall in Texas after our last update. She plays as a right back for Hebron High School in the Dallas area and starts for Sting Royal U19 in the ECNL league. Weiss is a modern outside back, who brings a lot of intensity to the field and is extremely solid on both sides of the ball. Her offensive game is elite and adds a lot to her team. Weiss is a constant option out wide, intelligently overlapping and engaging in combination plays to get the ball to the end line, but can also be dangerous coming inside with her ability to pass the ball and finish from outside the box. Weiss is very disciplined when playing defense and does a great job of not allowing opponents an inch of space in the final third and keeping them under pressure.

Sting’s starting right back Weiss brings a lot of intensity every time she’s on the field. She can run for days and uses that energy to go up and down the field the entire time, getting heavily involved in the game on both sides of the ball. Weiss has a lot of quality going forward, as she knows how to attack the space out wide, frequently overlapping and engaging in give-and-gos to get to the end line and cross the ball, but can also be a threat pushing through the middle with her vision and finishing skills. The right back is also very committed defensively, playing with tremendous energy and occupying the right spots to stop opponents that get into her zone.

Weiss is a force going forward, and her well-rounded game allows her to create problems for opponents in a variety of ways. She is excellent at combining with her teammates out wide and overlapping, but also likes to come inside to make final passes and finish chances. When playing defense, Weiss stands out for her toughness and discipline.

Weiss played for the Sting Black team that secured two wins and a loss over the weekend in Dallas. I got to watch her team in their opening match, a 1-0 win over De Anza Force, in which she was extremely active for them at right back. An offensive-minded outside back, Weiss was involved in different moments of their attacking efforts, occasionally getting the ball from the center back and getting it to the forwards with long, direct passes and, in other moments, appearing in the final third to create and finish chances. She also took care of business defensively, playing with great energy and determination off the ball.

Sting Dallas Black 08 will heavily rely on Weiss’ presence on the right side of their backline as they face Legends FC, So Cal Blues and Slammers FC HB Koge. She’s one of their core players, combining extremely well with Danielle Champ offensively. Weiss likes to push forward and does it very efficiently, being a constant presence in the attacking half and getting numerous assists with her crosses and through balls. She’s also a solid defender, who plays hard without the ball and is very disciplined in her tactical role.

With Weiss at right back, Sting Dallas Black G08 will battle PDA Blue, Bethesda SC and SUSA FC this weekend in Lakewood Ranch. She’s a big part of the team’s playing system with her intense two-way game on the flank. Weiss is very smart on defense, times her tackles extremely well and can play hard when needed, but is at her best in the attacking third. She’s very fast and skilled on the ball and can hurt opponents in a variety of ways. Her crosses are typically very precise and with her ability to dribble and pass, she can also tuck inside to make plays and finish from distance.
