There will be plenty of exciting matches going on around the Lone Star State over the next three weeks and Prep Soccer will preview some of them. Regional quarterfinals are up next, with matches taking place on April 1 and 2, and here’s one to watch:
Prosper vs. Heron – April 2 – 6:00 PM – @ Melissa Kenny Deel Stadium
Prosper
The Lady Eagles were third in District 5, completing their district schedule with ten wins, two losses and two ties. In the postseason, they Coppell 2-1 after two overtimes in bi-district and topped Arlington 5-2 in the area round. Prosper have a season record of 21 wins, two losses and two ties, with 99 goals scored and just 22 conceded.
Junior Trinity Morken Trinity Morken 5'5" | GK Prosper | 2025 State TX gets most of the minutes at goalkeeper and is extremely reliable between the posts. Prosper have a top-notch backline, which features options such as the versatile Rhiannon Mahon Rhiannon Mahon 5'10" | D Prosper | 2026 State #33 Nation TX (sophomore) and Beya Rosales (senior) and freshman Trinity Morrow Trinity Morrow D State #137 Nation TX . Senior Reagan Cox Reagan Cox F TX and junior Olivia Hess Olivia Hess 5'6" | M Prosper | 2025 State TX pull the strings in midfield, offering great quality on the ball. Hebron
The Lady Hawks ranked third in District 6 with a campaign of nine wins, two losses and three ties. Hebron overcame Guyer in PKs after a 2-2 tie in bi-district and then defeated Highland Park 1-0 in the area round. The team has 18 wins, three losses and four ties during the season, with 85 goals scored and 34 allowed.
Senior Destinie Apodaca has been huge for Hebron in the postseason, making big stops saving PKs. They have two of the best outside backs in the state in junior Chloe Nugent Chloe Nugent 5'4" | D Hebron | 2025 State #220 Nation TX and sophomore Lily Weiss Lily Weiss D Hebron | 2026 State TX . Seniors Molly Lundy and Jacey Beer and sophomore Maddie Martinez provide stability in midfield. Hebron’s offense has plenty of talent, with sophomores Leah Simpson Leah Simpson 5'5" | F Hebron Varsity | 2026 TX and Jordan Hill Jordan Hill 5'8" | F Hebron | 2026 State #29 Nation TX being able to create and score chances and junior Layla Thompson Layla Thompson 5'5" | M Hebron | 2025 State #139 Nation TX operating well inside the penalty box.
