Lucy is headed to Appalachian State in the summer of 2027 and will do so with high expectations. It is difficult to find a single descriptor that defines her style of play because she excels in every offensive facet. One thing is for certain, though, she is the main protagonist in the final third. No matter the rival, she performs at a consistently high level. If all goes to plan, this will translate once she arrives in Boone. Her talent is unique and rarely seen in general, let alone for a player of her age. The collegiate level will give her the spotlight she deserves.

Lucy is a fantastic talent who plays as a striker for her school. She gives the team plenty of support both on and off the ball, proving the be a well-rounded attacking talent. When her team is out of possession, she helps press the opposition intensely. Regardless of whether it’s in the middle of the park or near the box, her pressure helps recover the ball in great positions. Her strong and clean tackling makes her a headache for any player trying to build out from the back. In possession, her movements on the ball are fantastic. On the ball, she helps progress plays with phenomenal dribbling and passing. This allows for both her and her team to move forward quickly and cleanly. In the box, she is a threat who pounces on any opportunity fantastically.

Lucy is a forward on the Charlotte SA 09 ECNL team. She was an ECNL First Team All-Conference selection for the 2023/2024 season. She’s been equally as good this year so far. Chin is a player that might not end up as a forward at the next level, there are some characteristics to her game that suggest attacking midfielder. She is a creative, confident player who is impactful at the club level. She is clever on the ball and shows expertise in how she works out of pressure. The aspect of her game that stands out from film is how often she comes away with the ball from 50/50 situations. She cleanly wins the ball for her side consistently. She’s shockingly strong in the tackle and regularly puts players on the ground who reach for the ball in a duel. Chin’s weakness might be in finishing. She is right footed and can telegraph her shot a bit. She’s still a top scorer in the ECNL, but she could be a Youth National Team level player if she improved that aspect of her game. However, her ability to create those chances through her passing, defensive work, or dazzling dribbling displays speaks to her quality. She scored two quality goals during the ECNL National Event that showed her soccer intelligence in the timing and discipline of her runs off the ball. Chin continues to improve with every event and will be a top player to watch during the playoffs over the summer. 

Chin is a wonderfully instinctive forward, one who knows where exactly to be at all times. She has a clean and pure strike, one with pace and accuracy as she can bury a shot from distance in the upper V. She shows great understanding of nuance as well, making well-timed runs, but also letting the ball run on the ground until she finds an angle she likes before one-timing a ball home. She has very good speed, flashes plus technical skills to go along with her top notch finishing ability. She is a goal scorer of the highest order.

Chin can play multiple roles up front to benefit her team. She can play the “fox-in-the-box” role, cleaning up and finishing in the box. However, she thrives when receiving the ball at the edge of the box due to both the finesse and power she can quickly put into a shot.
