Villalpando is an incredibly hard-working player that contributes on both ends of the pitch. She helps her team in all facets as she is extremely talented on the ball, showing top-flight technical skills and ability. She can do anything she wants on the ball as she can manipulate it, she can carry, she can play clever balls and she does so without ever being bothered by pressure. She puts effort in on the back end as well as you can see she takes pride in helping win the ball back for her team. She’s a disruptive force in the midfield. Villalpando is a part of a high performing San Diego Surf midfield that produced a plethora of quality offense and concerted defensive efforts during their time in Seattle. She will be looking to increase the defensive efforts as they earned shutouts in their first two matches, but gave four goals in the latter half of the National Playoffs.

In theory, they play the same position but they are very different in their roles and responsibilities within the game. Villalpando is one of the top midfielders in the state because she is a coach on the field. She is a standout for being great at the tasks that she has to do for her team to be successful. She makes key tackles, she reads the game and makes key interceptions, and she distributes the ball quickly to her teammates. Villalpando is going to be a key building block for any team she plays on even though she won’t always show up in the scoresheet because she does her job extremely well.
