JR Eskilson | Prep Soccer Scout
Roche was in goal for Independence in the championship game. She was dependable and confident when called upon. She didn’t need to make any spectacular saves on the day, but she did provide the shot-stopping ability when needed.

Roche is a goalkeeper on the Charlotte Independence 2010 Girls Academy. She was part of the Girls Academy Talent ID event this season. She is five-foot-eight and right footed. Roche is an active goalkeeper who gets her hands on a lot of shots. She does a good job seeing the shot and moving her feet to get under it. She tips a lot of high shots over the bar – shots that would fool a number of goalkeepers. Roche has been a top player in the Girls Academy this season and looks to be a talent for scouts to know heading into the summer.

Paige is a fantastic goalkeeping talent who has evident potential to have a brilliant career. A monumental performance allowed her team to advance to the next round, registering 17 saves against an immensely talented attack. Her diving ability is remarkable, flying to the ball whenever she needs to. The saves she pulls off are great, proving that she has both the shot-stopping and diving attributes that distinguish a great goalkeeper from a normal one. She plays with the determination to keep her goal as safe as possible, rushing off her line constantly to prove so. Putting her body on the line to make a save or cut out a play is also another great attribute, not being afraid of the ball at all. Her attention is also fantastic, always keeping her eyes on the ball.
